QD Stores support Big C, Norfolk & Waveney’s local cancer charity, during the month of February
The QD Group of stores in Norfolk and Waveney are supporting Big C, their local cancer charity, during the month of February, by having collection tins on all their tills and by asking their customers and staff to donate old mobile phones and small print cartridges for recycling, raising funds for the charity.
All 12 stores; two in Norwich, two in Lowestoft, North Walsham, Potter Heigham, Gorleston, Fritton, Beccles, Dereham, Kings Lynn and Pulham Market, will be supporting this initiative and will all have Big C recycling boxes boxes, supplied by RPC Recycle of Rackheath, in which the donated items can be placed, an easy way to help those affected by cancer in our area.
Sharon Hulbert, PR and Corporate Fundraising Relations Manager for Big C, said, “ 2010 is Big C’s 30th Birthday year and in this year, despite the recession, we have plans to raise additional income in order that we can further increase the support and care offered to those affected by cancer in Norfolk & Waveney. We are absolutely delighted that QD Stores are working with us in this way and hope that people around the county will respond positively.”
Each year Big C needs to raise more than £1 million to fund equipment for our local hospitals, for the care and support of cancer patients and their families, and for research into cancer.
